Dear Parents,

You are warmly invited to share this information with parents you know who have a child studying in Primary 3 or Primary 4.

Research title
Working Memory and Attention Errors in Arithmetic: A Carry-Digit and Borrow-Digit Classification Study of Hong Kong P3/P4 Cantonese-Speaking Children Using Online Column-Form Assessment

This invitation is for a Master’s degree research study at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU).

The study primarily invites Hong Kong Primary 3 and Primary 4 students who follow the local curriculum and normally use Cantonese at home. Participation is entirely voluntary.

If you know a suitable family who may be interested, please feel free to forward this invitation privately. There is no need to send another parent’s contact details to me. Interested parents may contact me directly through the research contact page:

Students who already have a Moodle.hk account may log in and use this registration page:

Have you noticed the same small maths mistakes appearing again and again?

Subject: Have you noticed the same small maths mistakes appearing again and again?

Have you noticed that a child can understand a familiar maths method, but still miss a carry digit, borrow, or one place-value step?

I am inviting Hong Kong Primary 3 and Primary 4 children to take part voluntarily in a short online mathematics study. The study looks at number memory, attention and column-form arithmetic. It is part of a Master’s degree research study at Hong Kong Shue Yan University.

If you know a parent who may be interested, please forward this message privately. There is no need to send another parent’s contact details to me. They can read the information and contact me directly:
